About

InkPaperMosaic is a medium and blog for the various Muslim American narratives. The Muslim population in America varies from three to ten million. It is a population that is frequently misunderstood, misquoted, and feared. Consisting of Muslim Americans from diverse ethnic backgrounds, including European, Middle Eastern, Latino, South Asian and African, we aim to explore our distinct experiences, views, and ideas.

Our aim
The objective of this blog is to provide space for views that are often overlooked or misrepresented.  We strive to create a place where authentic views are expressed in an open and honest fashion. It is our hope to bring about understanding through civil dialogue and critical discourse. As a disclaimer, the views expressed on this blog, are not necessarily shared by all contributors nor do they purport to represent “the” Islamic perspective.

Why should you care?

“O mankind! We have created you from a male and a female, and made you into nations and tribes, that you may know one another…” (Quran 49:13)

You should care, because Muslims have become a focal point of today’s current events. Islam and Muslims have been put under intense scrutiny and inspection, at many times unfairly. There is a great need for understanding and communication in order to bring about positive change not only in society, but in the hearts and minds of people. We are all brothers and sisters in humanity and to function properly together as ‘Americans’ we need to break down the barriers. We aim to do it with words.
